A BLESSED AND FANTASTIC DAY!

I got questions for you to ponder upon?

What is your motive in your desire to get into a relationship?
Is that desire self-centered? Do you want a partner in life because you think and people around you say you are already in the 'right' age 2 get married? Or maybe you are a little anxious because you already belong to the 'older singles' (as you said) group and dating is the next best thing to do?

Whatever purpose you may have in your heart, be sure it is according to Christ's perfect will for you. (Col. 3:17, 23-24) Because the moment that that purpose contradicts His will in your life, you will surely mess up. Try to reassess yourself. Ask Jesus if this is what He wants you to do as of this moment. He surely understands our emotions, our longings, our desires and every detail of our lives because He Himself wonderfully & fearfully made us. You may be honest to Him of what you really feel and ask Him to control your emotions. (Heb. 4:14-15)Well, you know this world and Jesus have extremely opposite definition of ‘starting out a relationship’. you may not literally see & read that in the bible but if you try to be sensitive to His voice and you do have your own regular communication (quiet time) with Him, Jesus will reveal His heart in your situation and consequently clarify all questions wheeling over your head.

In the book, I Kissed Dating Goodbye mentioned by Bro. Choc, the author differentiates dating and courtship. Is that the same or different? Think about it. Online dating is one of the world's quickest and easiest tactics to get into a relationship which usually is self-centered (sorry to say) because you have these preferences and they MUST be met or nearly met before you give in. This world is so much into trial & error tricks and self-satisfying routines which surely Jesus doesn’t agree to. He certainly wants something that will always offer us the best. (Eph. 3:20, Jn. 10:10, Jer. 29:11) Unless He has first and foremost approved your purpose in getting into a relationship or even in pursuing anything in life and given you the green light to begin it, DON’T EMBARK ON. (Prov. 3:5-6, Jn. 8:12) You’ll surely suffer the consequences if you do. (Jn. 15:5-7, Col. 3:25) As ALL for JESUS Christians, we should learn to submit ALL things before Christ’s feet even our desires and our dreams because in Him we are made complete and He alone is the dream fulfiller. (Ps.37:4-6) We should not be pressured of what this world expects us to do but let’s find our comfort and peace in Jesus. (Is. 26:3-4, Num 6:24-26) We should set our anxieties free. (Phil.4:6, 1Pet. 5:7) You know when Jesus sees our desire to fully involve Him in our lives, He will definitely help. (Heb. 4:16)You just need to give Him a room to show how SPLENDID He could be in a life totally, absolutely and exclusively surrendered and devoted to Him. May you always decide on things with a wise heart and yearn to make Jesus’ heart overflow with gladness. (Prov. 23:15-16) May the LORD JESUS CHRIST grant you your heart’s desires and fulfill all your plans. (Ps. 20:4). As the song goes, remember that your latter will be greater than your past and you will be blessed more than you could ask. Despite all that has been done by Jesus in your life, the BEST things and BLESSED days are yet to come. Just simply count on the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

This is just a quick reply to "francinedd".
Ei, I understand your "problem", but I'd like to refer you to Joshua Harris' "I Kissed Dating Goodbye". It's a very good book that provides a solid Christian (and definitely Bible-based wisdom) insight and understanding on the concept of "dating" as the whole world understands, and how it actually differs from the purposes of our Lord Jesus Christ for us--and also for you. So, do take time to read the book!
Lastly, read the Lord's promise as written on Jeremiah 29:11, and do claim it as His promise for you, too! Then be reassured that whatever and whoever it is, it's for your best! Our Lord bless you!

I was wondering what some of the more mature members here do about dating. It seems much harder for older singles to find a mate, so I might be turning to online dating for older singles.
any suggestions? thanks.
